Let’s say you go for a drink and despite locking your bike properly, someone manages to steal it. We’ll refund its full value. And we don’t charge you any excess, nor do we take into account bike value depreciation in the first three years.
We pay for repairs to your bike when material damage has been caused by an accident, vandalism, flood, or fire and other external events. An excess of £35 applies.
Your new bike deserves the best protection – and you’ll want to make sure it’s covered before you even go for your first ride.
We know how important your bike’s insurance is and that’s why we’ve teamed up with the best and most reliable partners to create this policy.
The go-to insurance partner for Europe’s leading digital businesses, Qover is an intermediary registered with and regulated by the FSMA (Financial Services and Markets Authority).
They’ll take care of you and answer questions about your policies and claims whenever you need assistance.
Wakam was established in 1829 and is the oldest independent insurance company in France.
The company is regulated by the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR) in France and by the Central Bank of Ireland for Conduct of Business rules.
We cover all types of two- and three-wheeled bikes that can only be started and propelled by human force, or the assistance speed of which, if applicable, does not exceed 15.5 mph.
We also cover second-hand bikes, provided they are fewer than 12 months old at the time of purchase. In the case of second-hand bikes and new bikes over 30 days old, we will ask you to send us recent photos of your bike when taking out the policy.
We insure bikes against theft and damage caused in the event of theft or attempted theft, as well as theft or attempted theft caused by assault.
We intervene in the event of material damage to the insured bike:
The theft and material damage coverage is valid for incidents in EU Member States, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Andorra, Monaco, the Vatican, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland.
To keep premiums down, we apply a deductible of 10% of the bike’s value with a minium of 50€ and a maximum of 200€.
This means that if a bike is worth €2000 the amount of the deductible is only €200.
